Mumbai, Feb. 14 -- With only two days remaining for filing of nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections, the BJP on Wednesday announced official candidates for three seats in Maharashtra.

These candidates are former chief minister Ashok Chavan, Mahila Morcha national vice-president and former MLA Medha Kulkarni and BJP state vice-president Dr Ajit Gopchde.

Ms Kulkarni is from Pune, while Chavan and Gopchde are both from Nanded.

Chavan quit the Congress party and joined BJP on Tuesday. UNI SP SS
