Amravati, Nov. 17 -- BJP Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde received a threatening email on Sunday evening, prompting him to file a police complaint.
The email, sent from an unknown address, reportedly warned the MP to "control your tongue" or face unspecified consequences.
The complaint was lodged at the Rajapeth police station by Bonde's personal assistant, Ravikiran Waghmare.
Waghmare said the email referred to banners recently put up in central Amravati by the organisation "Islamic Information Centre"(IIC). The banners, which questioned people about Islam, had earlier drawn criticism from Bonde, who termed them part of a "conversion conspiracy" targeting Hindu youth and urged immediate police action.
