Bengaluru, Jan. 30 -- BJP MLC CT Ravi on Thursday urged the Karnataka High Court to quash the FIR registered against him by the Belagavi police for allegedly making an obscene remark against Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on the floor of the Legislative Council.
Appearing for Ravi, Senior Counsel Prabhuling Navadgi argued before Justice M Nagaprasanna that the FIR must be quashed as the BJP leader is entitled to "blanket immunity" under Article 194(2) of the Constitution, which grants protection to legislators for remarks made in the House.
