Bengaluru, July 18 -- Senior BJP leader and Vijayapur City MLA Basanagouda R Patil (Yatnal) has urged Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to withdraw the proposed Karnataka Rohith Vemula (Prevention of Exclusion or Injustice) Bill, 2025, alleging it is a politically motivated legislation aimed at dividing society on caste and religious lines. The Bill, which the Congress government claims is aimed at preventing caste-based discrimination in higher education institutions, is expected to be tabled in the upcoming Assembly session.
