Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug. 16 -- BJP MLA Sanjay Kenekar has filed a formal complaint with Police Commissioner Praveen Pawar seeking action against AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jalil, for "openly inviting people to eat meat" during the holy month of Shri Krishna Janmashtami and on the festival day itself.
The complaint demands registration of a case against the former MP.
This follows Jalil's protest on Independence Day (August 15) against municipal meat shop closures.
As state president of AIMIM, he hosted a "Chicken Biryani and Mutton Qorma" party at his residence, inviting municipal commissioners to demonstrate against the bans.
Speaking to UNI today, Jalil confirmed no officials attended his event.
