Lucknow, July 28 -- A day after Uttar Pradesh police filed a case against a prominent Muslim cleric over his alleged objectionable remarks against Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav during a TV debate, the state BJP hit out at the party, questioning the silence of the SP leadership over the "insult" to party chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife.

State Women and Child Development Minister Baby Rani Maurya said today that the BJP does not accept insult to women, no matter which party they belong to. The minister was talking to media at the party headquarters in Lucknow.
