Chandigarh/Jind, July 25 -- In a chilling attack in Haryana's Jind district, Vikas Sharma, son of a prominent BJP leader, was fatally stabbed late last night. The attackers, arriving in two vehicles, waylaid Vikas while he was heading home and stabbed him in the heart. Vikas, who operated a private hospital in Jind, succumbed to his injuries.
Based on a complaint by his father, Shiv Kumar Sharma, a former BJP Mandal president, a murder case has been lodged against eight suspects, including a rival hospital owner and his brother-in-law. Sharma alleged that a dispute over patients fueled a sinister plot, with Vikas being lured, driven around, and brutally killed. The accused were reportedly at the scene of the crime.
