Patna, Jan. 3 -- A controversial statement made about women from Bihar by Girdhari Lal Sahu, BJP leader and the husband of Uttarakhand's Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Development Rekha Arya, has triggered a political storm in Bihar.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Girdhari Lal Sahu is heard addressing young BJP workers at a party meeting, saying that if they are unable to get married, "we will get you married in Bihar." He also remarked that "girls can be found in Bihar for Rs20,000 to Rs25,000."The remarks are being described as an insult not only to the women of Bihar but to women across society.
