Chandigarh, Aug. 12 -- Punjab BJP leader and real estate businessman Ranjit Singh Gill has been granted interim relief by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, protecting him from being questioned by authorities until Monday. The court heard his plea to avoid arrest today, with the next hearing scheduled for Monday.

The development comes after the Vigilance Bureau conducted raids at four of Gill's properties, just 12 hours after he joined the BJP at the residence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, on August 1.
