Shimla, April 17 -- Political tensions rose in Himachal Pradesh after senior BJP leader, and current MLA Bikram Thakur leveled serious allegations against the state government and chief secretary Prabodh Saxena. Thakur claimed that a Holi celebration held at the government-run Holiday Home in Shimla was a misuse of public funds.

Thakur alleged that the extravagant party, attended by senior officials and their families, was organized at the taxpayers' expense at a time when the state is burdened with a debt of over Rs 1 lakh crore. He questioned the priorities of the government and the bureaucracy, saying such events reflected their insensitivity towards common citizens.
