Bengaluru, Aug. 23 -- BJP leader Vikas Puttur has alleged that the Karnataka government, influenced by embedded leftist elements, deliberately obstructed justice in the Soujanya rape and murder case while orchestrating parallel narratives to malign the sanctity of Dharmasthala.

Soujanya, a student, was raped and murdered on October 9, 2012, in Dharmasthala village. Multiple investigations by the CBI, state police, and CID failed to establish guilt, leading to the acquittal of the prime accused, Santosh Rao, by the Sessions Court on June 16, 2023.
