BJP Kisan Morcha launches statewide stir
Bengaluru, July 28 -- The BJP Kisan Morcha today launched a week-long statewide protest across Karnataka accusing the Congress-led state government of mishandling fertiliser distribution and causing an acute shortage of urea during the ongoing agricultural season.
Protests were staged in multiple districts including Davangere, Koppal, and Dharwad, where BJP's farmers' wing raised slogans demanding immediate and adequate supply of urea. Former Minister MP Renukacharya led the agitation in Davangere, where he and several other protesters were detained by the police and taken away in a vehicle.
The protest campaign is expected to continue throughout the week in other parts of the state, according to BJP Kisan Morcha officials.
