Pune, Jan. 4 -- Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deliberately misleading its ally, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) city chief Ravindra Dhangekar on Sunday launched a fresh attack, alleging that the BJP kept Shiv Sena "hanging till the very end" by dangling the promise of an alliance.

Talking to mediapersons, Dhangekar said that because of prolonged and misleading alliance talks, Shiv Sena failed to field candidates in all 165 seats. "I have been saying from day one that the BJP would not form an alliance with us. They believe they are the sole dominant force in Pune. Unfortunately, our office-bearers were misled and fell into the BJP's trap," he alleged.
