Patna, Sept. 19 -- The Bihar Congress today accused the BJP-JD(U) government of allotting 1,200 acres of fertile agricultural land to Adani Power at a token lease rate of just rupee 1 per year for 33 years with an aim to secure election funding ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls.
Bihar Congress chief spokesperson Rajesh Rathore told news persons here that the government had also permitted the felling of nearly 10 lakh cash-crop trees, including mango and litchi, to facilitate the project.
He questioned the rationale behind providing land and resources to a private company while, according to him, power would be sold at one of the costliest rates in the country, Rs 6.75 per unit.
