New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led administration in Delhi is creating new garbage mountains, transforming the capital into a "cancer capital" and endangering public health through contaminated groundwater and air.

At a press conference, AAP's Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that waste from the Bhalswa landfill is being transported and dumped in the Kirari area. He stated that this plastic and chemical-laden waste is polluting the soil, air, and groundwater, posing severe health risks, including cancer, to the predominantly Purvanchali residents who rely on tube-well water.
