Bengaluru, Dec. 3 -- The Karnataka BJP has once again seized upon an image, a symbol, an object on the wrist - not for its weight in metal, but for its weight in meaning. And in the theatre of Karnataka politics, symbolism is never incidental.
The party's latest charge against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah comes wrapped in the language of moral outrage. "Mr. @siddaramaiah, your definition of Socialism seems to come with a very high price tag. While the people of Karnataka struggle with drought and crumbling infrastructure, our 'Simple Socialist' CM flaunts a Santos de Cartier," the BJP posted, in a tone meant to sting rather than merely accuse.
