Lucknow, July 25 -- The controversy surrounding former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's political meeting inside a mosque refuses to die down, as the BJP and clerics continue their attacks on the Samajwadi Party chief.

On the other hand, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, national president of the All-India Muslim Jamaat, condemned Dimple Yadav's conduct and attire during the meeting, alleging that it violated the sanctity of the mosque.

He referred to her as a "political Hindu woman" and claimed she failed to maintain the appropriate decorum expected within a mosque.

"A mosque is the house of God, and no political party meeting should take place there," Razvi said.
