Lucknow, Sept. 8 -- Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav today said that the flood situation in the state is horrific as hundreds of villages and many urban areas in dozens of districts are inundated and lakhs of people and animals are in trouble, but the government is nowhere to be seen in this hour of crisis.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, "The flood situation is bad in many districts from Mathura to Agra, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Etawah, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Hardoi and Varanasi, People's homes and farms have all been destroyed.
