Agartala, Feb. 22 -- BJP-led government in Tripura has taken a loan for payment of instalments and interest of previous Left Front government, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha here on Saturday.
He alleged that the previous Left Front government had taken a Rs 13,000 crore loan from different institutions, and now his government has been repaying it by taking another loan.
Despite several odds, Tripura has adopted multipronged strategies to improve tax collection, the Chief Minister said after inaugurating GST Jaagrookta Abhiyan.
He said modern technologies are being utilised and digital awareness among taxpayers would be further expanded.
