Akola, Jan. 10 -- Congress Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of pursuing a "divide and rule" strategy to polarise society along communal lines.
Addressing reporters after a Congress meeting held ahead of the municipal corporation elections, Pratapgarhi asserted that Mumbai would never be permitted to be "sold off" in the manner of Dharavi, even as key public assets such as airports are being privatised.
He emphasised that Mumbai belongs to Maharashtra and would always remain an integral part of the state.
The poet-turned-politician further alleged that the BJP's politics was focused on dividing people and denying them access to education.
