Bhopal, Aug. 19 -- Madhya Pradesh State Assembly Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar alleged today that nearly 16 lakh voters were 'fraudulently' added in Madhya Pradesh in just two months before the 2023 State Assembly polls, and that resulted in the Congress candidates losing by very small margins on at least 27 of the 230 Assembly seats.
Addressing media persons at Bhopal, Singhar charged that the BJP formed the government in MP in 2023 by "stealing" votes and got a 'fake' mandate, with the Election Commission's help.
Singhar pointed out that in the 2018 Assembly polls, the BJP's total votes were only one percent higher than the Congress votes.
