Srinagar, Oct. 29 -- Hours after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced that a temporary campus for the proposed National Law University (NLU) could be set up at Ompora in Budgam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the upcoming Budgam by-election filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) alleging violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

BJP candidate Aga Mohsin lodged the complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi, accusing the Chief Minister of attempting to influence voters ahead of the Budgam bypoll scheduled for November 11.
