Chennai, May 3 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin
on Saturday said the BJP government at the Centre was feared of questions from
the media and uses its majoritarian agenda to attack the media.
In his message on World Press Freedom Day, Mr Stalin India has plunged to
151 in the Global Press Freedom Index because the BJP regime fears questions.
Reminding the media that without fearless journalism, democracy dies in darkness,
Mr Stalin stressed on safeguarding the press freedom, not just for the media, but for
every citizen's right to know, question, and speak truth to power.
Writing on X, he said "India has plunged to 151 in the Global Press Freedom
Index. Why? Because the BJP regime fears questions."
