Mumbai, Jan. 16 -- Maharashtra's ruling Mahayuti spearhead Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came up with an awesome show to secure control of 25 of the state's 29 municipal corporations, including the prestigious BMC which it bagged in alliance with the Shiv Sena (Shinde), in the vote count on Friday.
As per the trends, out of the total of 2,869 seats across 29 municipal corporations, the BJP has already won or was leading in 1,064 wards, while Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena had the pole position in 282 wards.
The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) is leading/has won in just 109 wards. The Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP is ahead in 113 wards, whereas the Sharad Pawar-led NCP is leading in only 24 wards.
