Sindhudurg, Nov. 20 -- The local self-government elections in Sindhudurg were expected to be contested jointly by the Mahayuti partners, but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was not willing to continue the alliance, claimed Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MLA Nilesh Rane.
He alleged that it was the BJP that effectively ended the Mahayuti alliance in the Konkan region.
Rane stated that his party made sincere efforts to keep the alliance intact in the district and specifically in the Kankavli Municipal Council elections. However, since the BJP was not interested in partnering with them, they chose to align with the parties that were willing to cooperate.
