Hyderabad, Oct. 6 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao today welcomed the Supreme Court's dismissal of a petition opposing 42 percent BC reservations in local body elections, while simultaneously criticising the Congress government for increasing city bus fares.

Speaking to reporters, Rao clarified that the apex court's dismissal was only procedural, as the matter is already pending before the High Court.

"When the case is in the High Court, the Supreme Court naturally directed that the arguments be heard there first. But Congress ministers rushed to Delhi thinking they could achieve something politically, which is ironic and wrong," he said.
