Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 24 -- Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar today demanded the resignation of Congress MLA from Palakkad, Rahul Mamkootathil, who is facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
Chandrasekhar said the issue was not merely an internal matter of the Congress but a question of accountability to the people of Kerala.
"This goes beyond party politics. It is about the social contract between an MLA and the people who elected him. If Mamkootathil has even an iota of dignity or self-respect, he should step down," he said.
