Hyderabad, March 24 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has echoed concerns raised by civil society activists over the alleged misuse of Minority Welfare Funds by the Telangana government.

The party strongly opposed the reported allocation of Rs 70 crore for hosting an Iftar party ahead of Ramzan, calling it an unjustifiable expenditure amid the state's financial struggles.

Addressing the media, BJP Chief Spokesperson N V Subash urged the Congress-led government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to ensure that welfare funds are used strictly for their intended purposes.
