Shimla, Feb. 14 -- The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday defended the union Government's decision on the phased reduction of Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG), asserting that the Centre could not be faulted for what it termed as financial indiscipline under the Congress-led dispensation in Himachal Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal accused the state government of indulging in "spendthrift policies" while attempting to shift responsibility onto the Government of India.

The remarks came after the BJP staged a walkout from an all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
