Hyderabad, Oct. 9 -- BJP Telangana state president N Ramchandra Rao today criticised the Congress government for the High Court's interim stay on GO No. 9, which provided 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections.

Speaking at the BJP state office, he blamed the Congress government's alleged legal lapses and hasty actions for the plight of BC communities.

Rao said the government issued the election notification before the Governor's three-month period for approval had expired, calling it illegal and politically motivated.

He urged the Congress government to approach the Supreme Court to rectify legal loopholes and ensure justice for BCs.
