Guwahati, Aug. 28 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has constituted an 18-member core committee for its Assam unit as part of its preparations for the 2026 state assembly elections.
The announcement comes just ahead of union Home Minister Amit Shah's two-day visit to thestate, during which he is scheduled to meet the committee on the night of August 28 to review poll preparations and fine-tune the party's strategy.
State BJP president Dilip Saikia said the panel was formed with the approval of national party president J.P. Nadda.
