Hyderabad, Aug. 22 -- The Telangana BJP today strongly condemned the arrest of its state president N Ramchander Rao and several senior leaders, terming it "illegal" and accusing the Congress government of resorting to such measures to cover up its failures.
According to the party, Ramchander Rao's convoy was intercepted at Moinabad when he was returning to Hyderabad after a 24-hour tour of Chevella Assembly Constituency. He was taken into custody and shifted to the Moinabad police station.
Police also detained several BJP leaders and hundreds of workers who were heading towards the Secretariat to participate in the party's protest, "Save Hyderabad." The agitation was planned to highlight the alleged negligence of the Congress government i...
