Aizawl, Oct. 24 -- A delegation of the BJP Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), Mizoram, has taken up locals' demands for delayed compensation for families whose properties were affected by a border fencing project involving Bangladesh.
The delegation met Dr Rajendra Kumar, Secretary of Border Management at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi on Tuesday. It pressed for immediate action to resolve the long-standing issue.
Led by district party president Durjya Dhan Chakma, the delegation presented a comprehensive appeal highlighting the delay in compensation despite a clear order of the Gauhati High Court.
