Mumbai, Dec. 1 -- The BJP central leadership has decided to mediate to resolve the escalating disputes between the party's local leaders and their counterparts in the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in the run up to the local body elections, sources disclosed on Monday.
As soon as the local body elections were declared, strong disagreements erupted between the Shinde faction and the BJP. The conflicts primarily centered around attempts to poach each other's leaders and workers. Shiv Sena (Shinde) chief and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde even went to Delhi to present his concerns directly to union Home Minister Amit Shah. However, sources indicate that he did not receive the expected assurance or response.
