Kolkata, Oct. 6 -- A day after incessant rains and landslides struck vast stretches of North Bengal, BJP's West Bengal state president Shamik Bhattacharya arrived in Siliguri to take stock of the situation and extend support to the affected people.
Bhattacharya landed at Bagdogra Airport around 9 am, where he was received by local party leaders and functionaries.
He was accompanied on his North Bengal visit by Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, Jalpaiguri MP Jayanta Roy, and North Malda MP Khagen Murmu.
Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anandamay Burman, and Falakata MLA Deepak Burman also joined him on the tour.
