Itanagar, Jan. 5 -- The State Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Arunachal Pradesh, has officially approved the names of newly-elected Zilla Parishad Members as party candidates for the post of Zilla Parishad Chairperson in their respective districts.
According to an official order issued by the BJP State Office, the decision was taken as part of the party's organisational preparedness for the upcoming Panchayati Raj institutional leadership formation across the State.
Reaffirming its commitment to the 33 per cent women's reservation, the Saffron party has once again nominated nine women candidates for nine of the 26 Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) seats.
