Ranchi, March 18 -- Jharkhand BJP president and MP Aditya Sahu on Wednesday alleged large-scale irregularities in the purchase of forensic detective equipment in the state and demanded a high-level probe into the matter.

Sahu claimed that the equipment was procured at significantly higher prices, alleging that a machine purchased by the Jharkhand government at around Rs 74.89 lakh was available elsewhere for about Rs 19.09 lakh.

He alleged that corruption had become widespread in the state and accused the government of financial mismanagement across departments.

The BJP leader also claimed that basic services such as pensions, healthcare and student welfare were being affected while public funds were being misused.
