New Delhi, June 30 -- The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Opposition INDI Alliance, alleging that its parties like the RJD and Samajwadi party were attempting to promote what he termed as "Namazwad"-a religiously motivated deviation from constitutional principles-and accused them of undermining the legacy of BR Ambedkar.
Addressing a press briefing, Senior BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that there is "no mention of the concept of Waqf in the Quran, attributing it to interpretations developed by clerics. He further said the Quran encourages voluntary giving, not institutional religious control, and warned that opposition parties are attempting to "convert Samajwad (socialism) into Namazwad."
