Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 3 -- BJP Kerala State General Secretary M.T. Ramesh has accused both the Congress and the CPI(M) of jointly protecting Rahul Mamkootathil, alleging a covert political deal between the two rival parties to stall action in the case.

Addressing the media, Ramesh criticized the police for failing to register a case or arrest Mamkootathil despite the availability of audio evidence and other supporting documents.

"Rahul Mamkootathil is not missing; the police have known his whereabouts for four days but did not arrest him. Why was the arrest delayed until a bail petition was produced in court? Action should have been taken immediately upon receiving the complaint," he questioned.
