Hyderabad, Dec. 30 -- BJP Telangana State Vice-President Kasam Venkateshwarlu on Tuesday alleged that the higher education system in Telangana has "collapsed," citing severe faculty shortages and inadequate funding across state universities.

Addressing a media conference at the BJP State Office, he said a recent meeting of university Vice-Chancellors-held parallel to the Assembly session-exposed the depth of the crisis, with VCs themselves flagging lack of funds, stalled recruitment and declining academic standards.

He accused both the previous BRS government led by K Chandrashekar Rao and the present Congress government under A Revanth Reddy of neglecting higher education.
