Hyderabad, Sept. 18 -- BJP Chief Spokesperson and Media Incharge N V Subhash on Thursday rebuffed the remarks of state Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, who had accused the BJP of seeking credit for Hyderabad's merger with the Indian Union.

In a statement, Subhash said the BJP's intention was not to claim credit but to educate people, especially the younger generation, about the history of Telangana Liberation Day.

He said it was important for youth to know the facts of the Nizam's dictatorial rule and the sacrifices made by people during that period. "Service is the duty of every BJP worker and our party never claims credit. It is the people who acknowledge BJP's performance," Subhash said.
