New Delhi, Oct. 8 -- The BJP today criticised the West Bengal government, accusing it of harbouring a 'Talibani mentality' amid escalating violence against BJP leaders during flood relief and rescue operations.

Speaking at a press conference here, party spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala labeled the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government as one that represents a "Talibani culture."He said that despite the ongoing natural disaster engulfing the state, Mamata Banerjee is more interested in celebrations than the welfare of the people whose houses were submerged in floodwaters.

Poonawala also pointed out that BJP MP and tribal leader Khagen Murmu was brutally assaulted, with severe injuries including a head wound that required ICU admission. ...
