Chandigarh, Aug. 21 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab today accused the B S Mann government of misusing police power to obstruct its efforts to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welfare schemes, following the detention of several party leaders and workers across multiple districts.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP's state Working President Ashwani Sharma condemned the arrests, alleging they were aimed at denying citizens access to central government benefits.
