Hyderabad, July 30 -- BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday accused the Congress government of manipulating the 42 per cent reservation meant for Backward Classes (BCs) by allegedly diverting 10 per cent of it to Muslims to appease the AIMIM for political gains.
Speaking to the media in Illandu, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Rao said such moves were facing widespread opposition from BC associations and even BC leaders within the Congress party itself.
He pointed out that 50 divisions under the GHMC are currently under BC reservation, yet 35 of these were reportedly allotted to Majlis candidates in the past, drastically reducing actual BC representation. "This is nothing but injustice to the OBCs," he said.
