Chandigarh, Aug. 22 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of deliberately blocking public welfare camps and misusing citizens' data, escalating tensions between the two parties. In protest, BJP workers across the state burned effigies of the AAP government, condemning its actions as politically motivated.

BJP Punjab's acting president, Ashwani Sharma, alleged that the AAP government is preventing Punjabis from accessing welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi-led central government, aimed at benefiting the poor, unemployed, farmers, Dalits, women, and youth. Sharma claimed that AAP's interference is depriving a large section of the population of these benefits.
