Bhubaneswar, May 27 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has strongly reacted to the sudden cancellation of the tender for the ambitious Coastal Highway Project in Odisha, which was to be executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, former Minister and BJD Vice President Sanjay Dasburma said that under the Union Government's ambitious Bharatmala project, a coastal highway of approximately 413 km was planned in Odisha, as announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Dasburma said that as part of this project, the road from Ratanpur to Chandanpur would be declared a National Highway and linked to the proposed coastal highway.
