Bhubaneshwar, Feb. 3 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today once again raised serious questions over the lack of transparency in 2024 twin polls in the State pointing out that Odisha recorded an increase of 7 per cent to 30 pc in vote figures in all 21 parliamentary constituencies and 38 assembly constituencies, a phenomenon not seen in previous elections.
The Election Commission of India has not provided any clear explanation on this issue despite the party drawing the attention of ECI. This apparently casts doubts on the fairness of the 2024 elections, senior BJD leaders alleged while briefing reporters.
