Bhubaneswar, Oct. 9 -- On the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today launched a month-long statewide Jan Sampark Padayatra from Suando village in Puri district, the birthplace of Utkalmani, to strengthen its grassroots connect and expose what it termed as the failures of the BJP government.
The programme began with senior BJD leaders offering floral tributes at the Panchasakha Samadhi Pitha.
The Padayatra commenced from the Sakhi Gopal Temple and concluded at Suando, the birthplace of Pandit Gopabandhu Das.
