Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today demanded a CBI probe into the alleged Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, accusing the ruling BJP of having links with the prime accused.
BJD Student Wing President Ipsita Sahu and party spokesperson Tumunath Panda alleged direct involvement of the state government in the irregularities and pressed for an impartial investigation by the CBI.
Sahu told newsmen here that in the past 15 months, as many as 16 recruitment examinations were cancelled at the last minute, disappointing thousands of job aspirants.
The Police SI written exam, originally scheduled for March 8-9, was cancelled and rescheduled for October 5-6, only to be called off again on September 30.
