Kannur, Aug. 31 -- Kerala Minister for Registration and Museums and Archaeology, Ramachandran Kadanappally has said the 'Bishop Vallopalli Memorial Immigration Museum', at Chembanthotti near Sreekandapuram, offers valuable glimpses into the history of Malabar immigration.
While inaugurating the first phase of the museum, Minister Ramachanrdan Kadanappally announced that the construction of the second phase would begin soon, adding that "the museums will serve as watchtowers of history at a time when efforts are being made to conceal it".
He also pointed out that recognizing the importance of museums in preserving heritage, the State government has established eight museums in Kannur district within the past nine years.
